STEP 1
Fill out the Adoption Application
To begin the adoption process, please complete our adoption application. If you're interested in a specific dog, make sure to include their name on the form. If you're unsure which animal might be the best fit, go ahead and submit your application, and note any preferences or questions you have. You only need to apply once, and we’ll ensure your information is reviewed and vetted. Please remember that submitting an application is just the first step and does not guarantee adoption of a particular pet. Feel free to reach out to us with any questions! Contact us here.
STEP 2
Adoption Consultation
You will be contacted by Herding Home Animal Rescue to schedule an initial phone screening. You can expect further discussing your needs, preferences and lifestyle as you look for a new family member. Our goal is to ensure you and your dog are a good fit. Herding Home is here for our Adopters, supporting and guiding them along the way of their new adventure adopting a rescue dog.
If you are interested in a specific animal, please be sure to list their names on your application. If you can’t find their name, don’t worry: simply write in the notes who you might be interested in. You can write multiple animals into a single application.
Please note that submitting a questionnaire is the first step in our process and does not guarantee adoption of a particular dog
STEP 4
Find Your Family Member
Following steps 1-3, you will either be approved to adopt the dog you are interested in or pre-approved and matched with. You can view the list of current dogs available for adoption here online, attend one of our adoption events to meet our dogs, and follow us on instagram and facebook to stay up to date!
STEP 5
Adopt
Once your application has been approved, the final step is completing the adoption process! At this stage, you'll meet your new pet and review any final details, including signing the adoption agreement and covering the adoption fee. We'll provide you with all the necessary information about your new family member, including their medical records, care instructions, and any other resources to help with the transition. Herding Home Animal Rescue is here to answer any last-minute questions and ensure you're fully prepared to bring your new pet home!
